So today, I've tried a new feature, that came with C4D R17, called "Variation Map". I would say that the feature is super cool since it lets me apply different colors for multiple objects by only one material. Also, I've learned a technique called "Object Swapping". This technique basically helps me simulating high polygon objects without slowing down my computer. This workflow is totally a time saver whenever I have to deal with a heavy scene.
Btw, if you really want to learn how to create something like this, please visit: http://greyscalegorilla.com/tutorials/rendertime-object-swap-and-the-variation-map-in-r17/
There are a lot more other tutorials from the website as well. They also create awesome plugins that work inside the C4D. Please support them.
